Day 1: Vancouver To Jasper - Scenice Drive
The journey from Vancouver to the Rockies takes you through the picturesque farming communities of the Fraser Valley, with a memorable photo stop in the charming town of Hope. As you continue, you’ll ascend into the majestic Coastal Mountains and follow the picturesque Coquihalla Highway to Kamloops. After a lunch break, you’ll retrace the historic path of the famous Overlanders, following the winding course of the North Thompson River to Jasper. Along the way, take a moment to marvel at the awe-inspiring Mount Robson, the tallest peak in British Columbia. Enjoy an overnight stay in Jasper.
Day 2: Jasper To Banff - Icefield Parkway Sightseeing
Start your morning with a refreshing hike (optional) through the Maligne Canyon, a remarkable limestone gorge adorned with six narrow bridges and picturesque waterfalls. Continuing our journey south along the magnificent Icefield Parkway, often hailed as one of the most beautiful highways in the world, we will explore its must-see attractions, including Athabasca Falls, Peyto Lake (seasonal), and Crowfoot Glacier. Day 3: Banff National Park Sightseeing
Prepare yourself for another exhilarating day of sightseeing and activities in Banff National Park. As we make our way to Lake Louise, we will pause at Johnston Canyon for a leisurely hike (optional) along the trail that guides us to the breathtaking Lower Falls. While at Lake Louise, you’ll find numerous viewpoints offering splendid photo opportunities of the majestic Victoria Glacier towering over the lake. In the afternoon, our adventure continues as we explore other notable attractions in the Rockies, including Moraine Lake (seasonal), Banff Springs Hotel, and Bow Falls Don’t forget to take advantage of the gondola ride up Sulphur Mountain** for a breathtaking panoramic view of Banff town and its surrounding or Upper Hot Springs for a soothing soak in the hot, mineral-rich water. Day 5: Lake Louise To Kamloops - Rocky Mountaineer
Departure: 8:20 am
Arrival: 6:30 – 8:00 pm
Board the Rocky Mountaineer train at the Lake Louise Station at 8:30 am MT to travel from Lake Louise to Kamloops, located in the heart of British Columbia’s interior. Your journey takes you through a spectacular array of scenery as you travel between the glacier and snow-capped peaks of the Canadian Rockies, over mountain passes, and through remarkable tunnels, along rocky lakeshores and across the ranchlands of the interior. Today’s highlights include the Continental Divide, the Spiral Tunnels, the Kicking Horse Canyon, Rogers Pass, and Craigellachie where the last spike of the Canadian Pacific Railway was driven. You will arrive in Kamloops between 6:30 pm and 8:00 pm PT. Spend the evening exploring the city, or relaxing in your hotel. On today’s journey west, you will again see dramatic changes in scenery, from the desert-like environment of the Interior, through winding river canyons and pristine forests, to the Coast and Cascade Mountains and the lush green fields of the Fraser Valley. Breakfast and lunch will be served onboard. Highlights include the steep slopes and rock sheds along the Thompson River and the rushing waters of Hell’s Gate in the Fraser Canyon.
