  TOUR ITINERARY

Day 1 (Vancouver to Kamloops - by Rocky Mountaineer Rail)
Travel aboard the Rocky Mountaineer from the coastal city of Vancouver to Kamloops in the heart of
British Columbia’s interior. On today's journey, you will see dramatic changes in scenery, from the
lush green fields of the Fraser River Valley, through forests and winding river canyons surrounded
by the peaks of the Coastal Mountains, to the desert-like environment of the interior. Highlights
include the rushing waters of Hell’s Gate in the Fraser Canyon and the steep slopes and snow
sheds along the Thompson River. Your day concludes as the Rocky Mountaineer travels along the
shores of Kamloops Lake and into your overnight destination of Kamloops.

Day 2 (Kamloops to Jasper - by Rocky Mountaineer Rail)
Your journey continues North and East to the mighty Canadian Rockies and the province of Alberta.
Once again you will be surrounded by dramatic scenery as you follow the banks of the North-
Thompson River through the Monashee and Cariboo Mountains, climbing even nearer to the high
peaks of the Continental Divide. Today's highlights include Mount Robson, the highest peak in the
Canadian Rockies at 3,954 metres (12,972 feet), Pyramid Falls, as well as the climb over
Yellowhead Pass into Jasper National Park. Your rail journey ends upon arrival in the resort town of
Jasper this evening. Overnight in Jasper.

Day 3 (Jasper to Banff - by Coach)
Start the morning with a refreshing hike in Maligne Canyon, one of the world's largest and deepest
limestone gorge criss-crossed by 6 narrow bridges. Head South on the Icefields Parkway to
experience the thundering waters of Athabasca Falls, picturesque Peyto Lake, and majestic Castle
Mountain. At the Columbia Icefield, ride the "Ice Explorer " on the Athabasca Glacier! Overnight in
Banff.

Day 4 (Banff National Park - by Coach)
Enjoy scenic views including the spectacular Lower Falls as you walk through Johnston Canyon. At
Lake Louise, stroll the shores of the glacier-fed lake and enjoy the atmosphere of the world-famous
Chateau Lake Louise. Afternoon highlights include the Banff Springs Hotel, Upper Hot Springs and
views from the top of Sulphur Mountain. Overnight in Lake Louise.

Day 5 (Lake Louise to Vancouver - by Coach)
Start your day by crossing the Continental Divide and Rogers Pass, the highest pass in the
Rockies. Learn about the railroad engineering marvel, the Spiral Tunnels. Relax and enjoy the
passing scenery of Glacier National Park on your way back to Vancouver.
